Faith Reflection Post – Genesis and God’s Calling

Faith Reflection Post – Genesis and God’s Calling

This post is inspired by the sermon from Sunday worship on April 27, 2025. The pastor led us through key passages from Genesis, which deeply moved my heart. Here is a reflection I’d like to share with my community, giving glory to God and encouraging all brothers and sisters in Christ.

At the beginning of Genesis, we see a Creator who brings order, love, and purpose.
He spoke light into existence and separated day from night:

*“God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.”* — Genesis 1:5

He prepared a beautiful world and placed man in the Garden of Eden:

*“And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.”* — Genesis 2:8

Where trees were pleasing to the eye and good for food:

*“And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”* — Genesis 2:9

God not only blessed humanity but entrusted us with a mission:

*“And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’”* — Genesis 1:28

To tend and care for the garden:

*“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”* — Genesis 2:15

He also set boundaries to teach us trust and obedience:

*“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”* — Genesis 2:17
